Moon Dance

Richard McKinley

Restrained use of color with a dominant, complementary palette of red violet and green yellow, together with strong use of value contrast, allows this painting to meld together the inherent differences between colorism and tonalism. The lively surface texture serves to limit excessive detail, giving the painting the distinct impression of a brightly moonlit scene. ~ Awards Judge Robert Carsten
